NO HONKING DAY

14 JUNE 2023

New studies have shown a link between hearing loss and Alzheimer's disease, indicating that hearing problems may be connected to an increased risk of developing Alzheimer's.

Police are asking drivers to help the environment and people's health by not honking their horns.

Mumbai Traffic Police wants drivers to follow the noise pollution rules for vehicle horns mentioned in Rule 119 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989.

To protect vulnerable individuals from the harmful effects of noise pollution, the Supreme Court and High Courts have set rules and restrictions on noise levels and honking in residential and silence zones.

People who honk their vehicle horns unnecessarily will be punished under the Motor Vehicles Act and the Environment Protection Act.
