Yoga Poses for Acid Reflux Relief

Thunderbolt pose

Sit with your legs stretched in front, fold both the legs and sit in a kneeling position. Your toes should touch each other at the back.

Standing forward bend

Slowly lengthen your body by folding your upper body forward and bending your knees. Bring your hand to your legs, and let your neck fully relax.

Wind relieving pose

Lie on your back with your feet together. As you exhale, bring your right knee towards your chest. Lift your head and touch your chin to your knee.


Sit straight and place your hands on your knees, palms open to the sky. Take a deep breath in. As you exhale, pull your navel back towards the spine.

How to do kapalbhati

You may keep your right hand on the stomach to feel the abdominal muscles contract. Take 20 such breaths to complete a round.


Kneel and place your hands on your hips. As you inhale, bend your tailbone backward and slide your palms over your feet until your arms are straight.

Plough pose

Lie on your back with your arms by your sides. As you inhale, lift your feet above the ground, use your hands to support your hips

How to do the plough pose

Then, lift them off the floor to place your toes over and beyond your head. Hold the position for a few seconds, then come back.
