Is olive oil good for your skin?
Dr Aanchal Panth, Dermatologist, pointed out a few factors about olive oil and if it's good for the skin or not.
She added, "There are many studies to suggest that olive oil causes disruption in skin barrier."
It has been suggested that ratio of linoleum acid to oleic acid in oils determines their effects on skin.
Higher the ratio the better it is. Olive oil is rich in oleic acid.
Application of olive oil tends to increase water loss from skin surface.
It disrupts the lipid stricter of stratum corneum.
