70-Year-Old Woman Stuns Internet with 120 Kg Leg Press and Cardio After Back Injury

Roshni Devi is seventy years old. Seniors, particularly women, may not be the first demographic that springs to mind when considering health and fitness inspiration. But Roshni is overcoming the obstacles and motivating us with her fortitude, tenacity, and optimism. She has become a living example that age is not just a number by exercising in the gym despite her back ailment and arthritis diagnosis.

View Roshni Devi’s motivational workout video.

A recent video posted on Urvandita’s Instagram page shows her performing leg presses and even deadlifts. You must watch it! I will likely schedule a workout for today and lift weights.

Age is just a number; maintaining youth is a decision.
“I thought ‘Who goes to the gym at this age?'” Roshni stated in the video. I damaged my back and developed arthritis in my knees two years ago. Nothing could be done, the physicians claimed. However, my son had faith in me. “This won’t work,” he replied, adding, “You come to the gym with me.” This is me at 70: I show up daily, leg press 120 kg three times a week, and deadlift 70 kg every week! Being young is a choice, but age is simply a number.

The caption stated, “Mrs. Roshni Devi — I never would have thought that at 70, I would lift weights, do cardio every day, and press my leg 120 kg. Basic duties were painful two years ago due to a back injury and knee arthritis. My son refused to accept the doctors’ dismissal of my recovery. He persisted, “Aise nahi chalega, aap gym chalo” (You must go to the gym right now). ‘Yeh, umar mein gym (Is this age for going to the gym)?’ I began, hesitant and ashamed. But I got stronger little by little. I cook for my family, go to the temple, move quickly, and look forward to my workouts today. The gym restored my life, not simply my physical health.
