This Star player of Gujarat Titans ruled out of ODI World Cup due to Serious Injury

Several terrible injuries are emerging one after the other in IPL 2023. Meanwhile, such an injury has occurred, and the national team of a great player, Kane Williamson, may be forced to withdraw from the World Cup.

Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans met in the first match of the IPL 2023. Gujarat’s finest player, Kane Williamson, was critically hurt in this match while attempting to stop a boundary. Williamson was carried off the pitch on a stretcher after this injury. He couldn’t even stand on his own. His right knee was sprained. Following the scan, it was determined to be an ACL damage. As a result, he was also ruled out of the whole IPL season. Nevertheless, the latest evidence is not encouraging for New Zealand cricket fans. Williamson may now be ruled out of the ODI World Cup, which will be staged in India this year. He has returned to his home country, and his injury is so severe that he will need surgery in three weeks when the swelling goes down.

Williamson stated, “It is sad that I have incurred such a significant injury.” But right now, all I can think about is surgery and then rehab. It may take some time, but I intend to return to the field as soon as possible. The loss of Williamson, New Zealand’s skipper and one of the world’s top batters, is a major setback for the Kiwis’ World Cup campaign. Coach Gary Stead stated, “Kane as a player, as captain, and his presence inside the team is really crucial for us.” We haven’t given up hope yet. But, based on the existing scenario, it does not appear that he will be able to recuperate until then. For now, our first goal is to get them correctly. It is a difficult moment for them, and we are all rooting for them.

In the absence of Kane Williamson, Tom Latham has frequently been spotted leading the New Zealand squad. He also led the New Zealand squad on their recent trip to India. Latham will also be in command of the New Zealand team in the next series against them. But, the loss of Kane Williamson as captain and batsman might be a major setback for the Kiwi squad at the World Cup. In one-day internationals, he has a 47.83 average. In addition, he has 13 centuries in 161 games.
