BCCI decision on Asia Cup could cost Pakistan crores: PCB Chief

Regarding the Asia Cup 2023, tensions have been high recently between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI). If Pakistan hosts this year’s Asia Cup, the BCCI has already made it plain that the Indian squad would not travel there. The two boards have also held a meeting to discuss this matter. The PCB chairman has also made a significant admission. He has stated that Pakistan will lose millions of rupees if they do not participate in the Asia Cup this year.

Najam Sethi, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board, has stated that if they choose not to participate in the Asia Cup this year, they might lose out on almost $ 3 million in prize money. According to Sethi, Pakistan is prepared to accept the defeat since it is a question of principle. According to Najam Sethi, India would not accept any other schedule and will not participate in the Asia Cup if it is not staged on a hybrid basis.

The Asia Cup will be held in Pakistan in September, but the location has not yet been determined. This is because India has made it plain that it would not play in Pakistan.

According to Sethi, security is not a concern for India, and the government should provide written documentation if it is refusing permission to perform in Pakistan. Other teams, including Australia, England, and New Zealand, should be prepared to play in Pakistan, he added.
