The former corporation commissioner of Sonipat is under suspicion of having accepted a bribe during his tenure as an officer. In a recent development, Dharmendra Singh has been accused of allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 crore 10 lakh.
The matter is currently under investigation by the Faridabad police. IAS officer Dharmendra Singh, who was previously stationed at Haryana Bhavan in Delhi, has been arrested.
On Monday, an arrest was made in Gurugram in connection with a corruption case. According to police officials, an officer identified as Dharmendra Singh has been arrested. Singh is currently serving as the Resident Commissioner at Haryana Bhawan in Delhi.
According to officials, a joint operation by the SIT and the Faridabad police led to the arrest of Singh. Singh has been accused of illegally inflating a tender’s value from Rs 55 crore to Rs 87 crore in order to obtain approval.
According to officials, it has been reported that during his tenure as the commissioner of Municipal Corporation in Sonipat, Singh allegedly accepted a bribe of Rs 1.11 crore from a contractor.
