JioCinema sets new record with 44.9 Cr. viewers of TATA IPL 

JioCinema’s multi-platform services enabled viewers to watch the TATA IPL 2023 on mobile devices, tablets, laptops/desktops, and connected TVs. The reach of the TATA IPL on linear TV is 37 Cr, compared to 32.6 Cr when out-of-home watching is not included.

As 44.9 Cr. people watched the TATA IPL on its platform, JioCinema kept setting new records. Viewers were able to watch TATA IPL 2023 on their mobile devices, tablets, laptops/desktops, and connected TVs thanks to JioCinema’s multi-platform services. 

More than 12.6 Cr. people signed on to JioCinema on their connected TVs this season, demonstrating the country’s significant growth in the usage of connected TVs. On connected TVs, viewers watched each match on average for 65 minutes, which was longer than what they saw on linear TV.

In contrast, according to BARC data, the reach of the TATA IPL on linear TV (excluding the championship match) for adults (age 15+) includes out-of-home viewing and is 37 Cr. Viewers who chance to be at restaurants or other public spaces who may or may not be actively watching the game are considered out-of-home viewers. The reach of linear TV is 32.6 Cr when out-of-home watching is not included.
