There was a time when Akshay Kumar was one of the most bankable actors of Bollywood and his presence in a movie was a guarantee of the movie’s success but currently the Bachchan Pandey actor is going through a tough phase as he has given back-to-back box-office flops and many industry people have even slammed him for releasing a film in 3-4 months.
Akshay Kumar will be seen next in the sequel of Oh My God and there are reports that he has taken a pay cut in the fees for this movie which is a result of his back-to-back failures. As per the reports, Khiladi Kumar of Bollywood who charges Rs. 100 crore approx. per movie is charging only Rs. 35 crore for OMG 2.
However, some reports suggest that Akshay Kumar is taking fewer amounts because the movie mainly revolves around the character of Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar will be seen in an extended cameo in OMG 2.
The teaser of the film has been released and Akshay Kumar seems to be playing the character of Bhagwan Shiva in the movie. However his co-actor from the first part, Paresh Rawal refused to be a part of this movie because the story failed to attract him.
Directed by Amit Rai, OMG 2 also stars Arun Govil and Yami Gautam in important roles and is slated to release on 11 August 2023.
