The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is slated to be played in India this year, starting from 5 October 2023 with England and New Zealand fighting it out in the opener of the tournament. While the hype for the tournament is on the peak all over the world, the apex body International Cricket Council has also released a promo for the tournament featuring the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and other cricketers such as Dinesh Karthik, Jhonty Rhodes, Muttiah Muralitharan, Eoin Morgan, Shubman Gill, Jemimah Rodrigues and others in guest appearances.
Shah Rukh Khan is the narrator in the video as various iconic moments are shown on the screen. SRK states, “The difference between making history and being history: one day. Jerseys will be worn, and chests will swell with pride, on that one day. Passion will triumph logic, and memories will be etched, on that one day. Fears will be conquered, and odds will be braved, on that one day. From the highs of joy, to the lows of anguish, it will all be embraced, on that one day.”
ICC posted that 2-minute long video with the caption, “History will be written and dreams will be realised at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, All it takes is just one day”
Prior to that, ICC released a photo of the trophy with Shah Rukh Khan and captioned it, “King Khan #CWC23 Trophy It’s nearly here …”
