Rohit Sharma Specially Mentions Virat Kohli’s Name After Test Series Win Vs WI

The Indian cricket team and its skipper Rohit Sharma must be a little disappointed as they missed the chance to whitewash the series due to rain because the second test match which was played at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad ended in a draw.

No cricketing action took place on the last day of the second test match because of rain and India had to remain satisfied with 1-0 series win. While India had to take 8 wickets in order to win the match, the hosts had to score 289 runs for winning the game which seemed to be quite difficult for them considering their past record. Mohammed Siraj was adjudged as the Player of the Match for his brilliant bowling figures of 60/5 in the first innings of West Indies.

During the post-match presentation, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma praised Virat Kohli for his contribution in the match as he said, “In Test matches, you need guys who stabilise the innings like what Virat did, he played superbly. You need the mixture of everything. We have depth, we have got variety. We are in the right place. It’s about getting the job done. I always believe in getting better as a team. I said after the WTC final as well. We’ve played consistent cricket. That’s what we are looking at. We want to focus on all three aspects of the game.”

Earlier in India’s first innings, Virat Kohli scored a century which is his 29th test century and 76th international century and this match was his 500th international match.

India will also play 3-match ODI series and 5-match T20I series against West Indies on this tour.
