Former Indian Cricketer Defends Hardik, Says He Doesn’t Need To Be Dhoni Even If…

The Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya who is leading team India in the ongoing 5-match T20I series is getting slammed a lot for not letting Tilak Varma complete his fifty in the third T20I which India won by 7 wickets.

Hardik Pandya smashed a six when 2 runs were needed to win the match despite the fact that 13 balls were still remaining in the Indian innings and Tilak Varma was at the score of 49 runs. While many called Hardik Pandya selfish and shameless, there were few who supported him by saying that there is no place for personal milestones in T20I cricket.

The former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra also questioned Hardik Pandya’s approach in his YouTube video. He once again spoke on this matter and this time he also referred to the incident which involved Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni but this time he was a little supportive of Hardik Pandya.

This is what Aakash Chopra said, “Just to touch upon it. It’s an interesting one, Hardik Pandya has been trolled a lot and has been criticised. But there’s another school of thought that says, why are you talking about milestones in T20 cricket? So, that was quite in the middle of the conversation. I remember once MS Dhoni played a forward defensive shot because he wanted him to finish it off, he didn’t want to take the limelight. But Hardik doesn’t have to be a Dhoni, even if he considers him an idol.”

Do you agree with Aakash Chopra? What is your take in this regard?
