Ganguly Gives A Savage Reply To Shoaib Akhtar On Virat Kohli’s Retirement Remark

There may have been some instances which suggest that things are not on good terms between former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly and Indian cricketer Virat Kohli but recently Dada gave a mouthful reply to former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar who made a statement regarding Virat Kohli.

Most probably, 34 years old Virat Kohli will be playing his last ODI World Cup which will start from 5 October and he hasn’t played any T20I after the T20I World Cup 2022 which gives an impression that the selectors are not considering him for the T20 set up anymore.

During an interview, Shoaib Akhtar stated that Virat should retire from ODIs and T20Is and focus on test matches to break Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 international centuries.

Shoaib Akhtar stated, “I don’t think he should play more 50-overs matches after this World Cup. Also, if you see him in T20s, it takes a lot out of him. I think he should play for at least six more years and break the 100 hundreds record of Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli has it in him to break the record. He should focus on Test cricket after this World Cup, and break this record.”

Later in the same evening, when Sourav Ganguly was attending an event and was asked about Shoaib Akhtar’s statement regarding Virat Kohli, Dada who didn’t see any logic in this suggestion, asked, “Why? Virat Kohli should play whatever cricket he wants to play. Because he performs.”

That was a superb reply, what do you say?
