Chandrayaan 3 LIVE Updates: Vikram Lander to Touch Down on Moon’s South Pole

Chandrayaan 3 LIVE Updates: Chandrayaan-3, launched on July 14, will reach Earth on Wednesday after more than a month.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission’s lander module has dropped out of orbit, and ISRO expects it to arrive on the Moon around 6.04 p.m. on August 23.  The world is anxiously awaiting India’s historic moment.

The ISRO said on X (formerly Twitter) that “the soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 is a monumental moment that not only fuels curiosity but also sparks a passion for exploration within the minds of our youth.”

This important development comes after the lander’s final and second deboosting maneuver, which was successfully completed on Sunday. Before making the final touchdown, the lander will now go through internal inspections and watch for dawn at the planned landing spot.

India would join the US, China, and the former Soviet Union in soft landing on the moon if successful.

What functions do the Pragyan and Vikram rovers perform?

The designations of the lander and rover are derived from Chandrayaan-2, the most recent expedition.

– Dr. Vikram A. Sarabhai, the founder of the Indian Space Program, is honored by having his name on the lander.

– The name of the robotic vehicle is Pragyan, which is Sanskrit for “wisdom.” The six-wheeled vehicle is equipped with equipment and payloads that can offer information about the Moon’s surface.

Meet the unsuccessful Luna-25, a Russian rival to Chandrayaan-3.

Following India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission, the Russian space agency Roscosmos launched the Luna 25 moon mission to the lunar south pole.

– Roscosmos claimed that the Luna 25 spacecraft would reach the Moon in roughly five days, but the mission ran into trouble as it neared its conclusion.

At the chosen Moon site, the lander awaits daybreak. Will it land when?

The Isro reported on Sunday that the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft performed a second and final deboosting operation to get its Lander Module closer to the Moon.

– The orbit of the Lander Module has been lowered to 25 km by 134 km due to the deboosting process.

The module would go through internal inspections and wait until dawn at the planned landing spot, according to the Indian Space Research Organization.

According to Isro authorities, the module is healthy and everything is progressing according to schedule.

Officials from the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) who are aware with the situation indicated on Saturday that the spacecraft is in good condition and that everything is proceeding according to schedule.

– Earlier on Aug 21, Monday, the Vikram Lander-captured new photographs of the Moon’s far side were released by ISRO.

– On Aug 23, Wednesday night, the lander will try a soft landing on the Moon.
