The Indian cricket team is currently playing the 3-match ODI series against Australia and the first match is being played currently at Mohali. Indian cricketer Sanju Samson must be very disappointed as the selectors didn’t select him for World Cup 2023, Asian Games and also not for this 3-match ODI series against Australia.
Fans of Sanju Samson are also very upset with the snub that the Kerala cricketer has got but the former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has talked about the reason as to why Sanju was not selected in the team.
Bhajji said, “Sanju Samson’s exclusion has raised a lot of debates. If you average 55 in ODIs and still don’t be a part of the squad, then definitely that’s strange. But I think Sanju wasn’t selected because India already had two wicketkeepers, KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan. Both are also a part of the World Cup squad.”
Bhajji goes on to say that personally also, he will prefer KL Rahul over Sanju Samson and things become more difficult for the RR skipper after Ishan Kishan played a mature knock against Pakistan in the Asia Cup match in which the Indian top order got out cheaply.
Harbhajan has asked Sanju not to get upset and try to perform well whenever he gets a chance to do so.
