The Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya is certainly one of the finest all-rounders of the present times and many former Indian cricketers felt that he would be of great use as the World Cup 2023 progresses. However, Hardik Pandya got injured when he was bowling in the match against Bangladesh and it was being said that he would make a comeback against Sri Lanka but that didn’t happen.
Now, it has been confirmed Hardik Pandya won’t be available for the remainder of the tournament as he hasn’t been able to recover from his injury and this is certainly a matter of concern for the Indian team management.
Though the Indian squad has been performing superbly in the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023 yet due to Hardik’s absence, the team is missing their sixth bowler.
Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna has been named as Hardik Pandya’s replacement and the ICC released a press release which read, “His (Pandya’s) place in India’s squad will be taken by Prasidh Krishna, with the inexperienced fast bowler parachuted into the playing group after being approved by the tournament’s Event Technical Committee on Saturday.”
Will Hardik’s absence pose problems for the Indian cricket team in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023? What do you think?
