The former Pakistani cricketer Abdul Razzaq created a storm on social media when he made insulting comments regarding Aishwarya Rai while speaking about Pakistani cricket and intentions of the Pakistani Cricket Board. Abdul Razzaq was speaking at an event when he said that the authorities of the current times are not interested in grooming talent and to explain his statement further, he gave an example in which he took the name of Aishwarya Rai.
The online users were also angry with the fact that the former Pakistani cricketers Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi who were sitting beside Abdul Razzaq also laughed and clapped on this statement instead of making Abdul Razzaq realize that he was making a mistake. Not just the Indian media and social media users but the Pakistani media and netizens also slammed Abdul Razzaq, Shahid Afridi and Umar Gul.
The former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar also slammed Abdul Razzaq and stated that people sitting next to him should have stopped him right away.
Now Abdul Razzaq has made an apology on this matter and in a video, he stated, “We were talking about cricket coaching and intentions. Meri zubaan fisal gai (I had a slip of the tongue) and mistakenly took Aishwarya Rai’s name. I should have given some other example but said that by mistake. I apologise to her personally. I did not intend to hurt anyone’s sentiment.”
He may have apologized but whatever Abdul Razzaq did was disgusting.
