Indian Women’s Cricket Team Made History, Registers Biggest Test Win Ever By 347 Runs

The Indian women’s cricket team under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur has scripted history by defeating England in the one-off test match by a huge margin of 347 runs. 

The match was played at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai and this is certainly the biggest win in the history of women cricket as the Indian women team broke the 25 years old record of Sri Lanka. In 1998, the Sri Lankan women team registered the biggest win against the Pakistan women team by 309 runs in the test match which was played in Colombo. 

As far as the match is concerned, the toss was won by India and it decided to bat first. The Indian women team smashed a big total of 428 runs on the scoreboard but in response, the England cricket team could manage only 136 runs in their first innings. India declared their second innings at the score of 186/6 and gave a target of 479 to the visitors for winning the match. However, the England women team could manage only 131 runs and India made history by winning the match by 347 runs.

The Indian woman cricketer Deepti Sharma was adjudged as the Player of the Match as she scored 87 runs (67 & 20) in the match and took 9 wickets (5/7 and 4/32) as well.
