The Indian cricket team is trailing by 0-1 in the 2-match test series against South Africa and now it will like to win the second test match in order to level the series. Rohit Sharma-led Indian team lost the first test match by an innings and 32 runs and now both the teams will clash against each other in the second test match which will be played at Cape Town from tomorrow (3 Jan 2024).
The Indian batters and bowlers failed miserably in the first test match, though Jasprit Bumrah was quite superb, he didn’t get good support from the other end as Mohammed Shami has been ruled out due to an injury. The debutant Prasidh Krishna failed to make any impact in the match and former Indian cricketers Sunil Gavaskar and Irfan Pathan who are also a part of the commentary panel have listed out changes that should be made in the Indian team for the second test match.
While both Sunil Gavaskar and Irfan Pathan want Prasidh Krishna to be replaced by Mukesh Kumar, Little Master also wants Ravindra Jadeja to replace Ravichandran Ashwin as Gavaskar feels that Ashwin was not used much in the first test match.
Well, Prasidh Krishna has been seen practicing hard and the Indian bowling coach is also paying more attention to him during net sessions which means that there is a good chance that he will play in the second test match. As far as Jadeja is concerned, he was a part of the Indian squad for the first test but he complained of back pain on the morning of the first test match because of which Ashwin was included in the team and currently, Jadeja was seen practicing hard in nets.
