Fans of Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were quite happy after they both were included in India’s T20I squad for the 3-match T20I series against Afghanistan. While Virat Kohli missed the first T20I for personal reasons, he wasn’t able to make a big score in the second T20I and in the third match, he got out for a golden duck.
As far as Rohit Sharma is concerned, he got out for ducks in the first two T20Is of the series but in the third T20I, he made a great comeback by smashing a century.
After the match, Rohit Sharma opened up on Virat Kohli’s dismissal, he said, “We only need to give clarity to the players about their position and the manner of cricket we want them to play with. The boys know what to expect when they come out onto the ground. As you saw today, Kohli tried to go hard from the word go, he normally does not do that, but he showed the intent. Same with Samson, he was out first ball, but the intent was there.”
Virat Kohli is just 6 runs away from touching the 12K mark in T20Is and now he will be able to touch this milestone in the T20 World Cup 2024 only because the Indian team won’t be playing any international T20I match before the T20 World Cup.
