BSE Sensex and Nifty dropped during trade. Only the pharmaceutical industry gained, while all others lost.
On Tuesday, the BSE Sensex lost 1,053.10 points to 70,370.55 and the Nifty 330.15 points to 21,241.65.
ONGC, Adani Ports, IndusInd Bank, Coal India, and SBI Life Insurance lost Nifty points. Cipla, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories rose on the Nifty.
All sectoral indices except pharma fell during trading. Pharmaceuticals were the sole growth sector. All BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices plummeted above 3%.
Conclusion
Pharmaceuticals were the only gainer on Tuesday as the BSE Sensex and Nifty fell. All indices except pharma declined, while BSE Midcap and Smallcap sank sharply.
