If England Plays Bazball On Indian Pitches, It Will Be Good For Team India, Says Mohd. Siraj

The first test match of the 5-match series between India and England has started today at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad and cricket fans of both the nations are eager to find out whether Bazball will work in India or not.

Bazball is the name given to the ultra-aggressive approach adopted by the England cricket team after head coach Brendon McCullum and skipper Ben Stokes joined hands. The Bazball approach has proved to be quite effective for the England team as it hasn’t lost a series since then and is hoping to repeat its success in India as well.

Till now, the England team has achieved success on the pitches which are conducive for pacers but in India, they are going to play on turning tracks.

The Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj has shed his opinion on the Bazball approach and he said, “If England play Bazball in Indian conditions, the match may get over within a day-and-a-half or two. It’s not easy to hit every time here as the ball turns sometimes and straightens on other occasions. So, I think it’ll be difficult to see Bazball here. But if they play it, it’ll be good for us as the match may get over quickly.”

He further said, “On their previous tour to India, the matches were getting over quickly. In that series (in 2021) I think I played two matches. In the first innings of one of these, I bowled five overs and took two wickets of Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow. So, the aim will be to control runs in how many ever overs I bowl. If I get wickets fine, but I’ll have to stay patient and continue building pressure on the batsmen.”

What do you think? Will Bazball be successful in India?
