Kashmir Breaks Dry Spell: Welcome Rainfall Brings Relief to the Valley

The MeT department predicted that the extended dry period will likely come to an end this weekend, despite the fact that Kashmir and Jammu saw below-average temperatures on Wednesday due to an extreme dry cold.

Snowfall has returned to the Kashmir valley following an extended period of drought. The land is already blanketed with white in several places. Throughout the next several days, further snow is anticipated, along with sporadic to isolated light showers. The weather service announced, “After the long unbroken dry spell, there is some good news around the corner.”

Between January 26 and February 1, the Meteorological (Met) department has predicted snow and/or rain in both the lowlands and the upper elevations.

There is some encouraging news coming after the protracted, uninterrupted dry season. In Kashmir, snowfall is anticipated from January 26 to February 1.

According to a statement from the MeT department, “between January 28 and 29, light to moderate snowfall in lower, middle, and higher reaches is likely to occur at many places, and between January 30 and 31 light to moderate snowfall is likely at widespread places.”
