MS Dhoni, the former Indian skipper will once again lead Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024 but there are strong speculations that this is the last season of MS Dhoni as a player and a skipper and from IPL 2025, CSK will have a new skipper.
The former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu who has played for both CSK and Mumbai Indians in the tournament feels that if Rohit Sharma is interested in playing IPL for more 5-6 seasons, CSK should trade him and make him the skipper from IPL 2025 provided MS Dhoni is taking retirement.
Rohit Sharma led MI for ten years and under his captaincy, MI won 5 IPL titles but recently the management took the decision of replacing Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya. The decision of removing Rohit Sharma from the captaincy didn’t go well with the majority of the MI fans and they slammed the franchise mercilessly on social media networks.
During an interview, Ambati Rayudu said, “Rohit Sharma can play IPL for the next 5-6 years. If he wants to captain, the whole world is open for him. He can easily captain wherever he wants. I want Rohit Sharma to play for CSK in 2025, if MS (Dhoni) retires then Rohit can lead as well.”
