The winning streak of Rajasthan Royals came to an end yesterday as they played their fifth match against Gujarat Titans and lost it by 3 wickets despite putting up a great batting show.
The match was played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur and after winning the toss, GT decided to bowl first. RR batted well and put up a competitive score of 196/3 in their stipulated 20 overs but GT managed to chase the target successfully on the last ball of the match.
The RR skipper Sanju Samson was certainly very upset and during the post-match presentation when he was asked when RR lost the match, he said, “I think (we lost it in) the last ball of the game. Very hard to speak at the moment. The hardest job in the tournament is when a captain loses the game and has to tell where the game was lost. When the emotions come down I’ll be able to tell clearly.”
Sanju Samson praised GT and said, “Have to give credit to the Gujarat Titans. That’s the beauty of this tournament. Will have to learn and move on.”
Despite losing this match, RR is still at the top of the points table with 8 points and GT is at the 6th position with 3 wins in 6 matches.
