Regarding her career, Rashmika Mandanna will reprise her role as Pushpa Raj’s wife Srivalli in Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, which is a follow-up to the 2021 hit Pushpa: The Rise, starring Allu Arjun. In an interview with Lifestyle Asia India, she discussed how her character has changed from the previous movie. Rashmika revealed that because of Srivalli’s uncertainty, playing her has been both fun and tough.
“Because I wasn’t familiar with the tale, Srivalli as a character, how to portray her, or the universe we were building, I wasn’t particularly familiar with my role in Pushpa. I had no knowledge at all. Thus, she remarked, “every day on set felt like going to a playground.”
Rashmika believes she has a better understanding of her character and the plot in Pushpa 2: The Rule, She says of her more self-assured role in the follow-up, Pushpa 2, “Srivalli is someone super sorted.” I can say that now that I am familiar with both the character I am portraying and the environment we live in, it is Srivalli 2.0.
