Sanju Samson Reveals One Lie Of Sreesanth To Rahul Dravid That Changed His Career & Life

The Indian cricketer Sanju Samson has been selected in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 and his fans are hoping to see him perform well in the mega event just like he is performing currently in the ongoing IPL 2024.

Sanju Samson has been leading Rajasthan Royals since 2021 and the team has played quite well under his leadership, not to forget that it was under his captaincy RR played their second IPL final in 2022.

A video is currently going viral on the Internet in which Sanju Samson revealed that he got entry into RR because of a lie that was spoken by former Indian cricketer Sreesanth who used to play for RR at one point of time. Sanju Samson was picked by KKR in 2009 but he was released by the franchise without even playing one game, Sanju Samson revealed in that video, “Being with KKR, I wasn’t getting a look-in, but during a match against RR, when [Rahul] Dravid was leading them, Sreesanth spotted him in the hotel lobby and vouched for me. He told him, ‘There’s this kid from Kerala who smashed six sixes in an over in a local tournament. We should definitely give him a trial.'”

Sanju Samson got the chance to prove himself as he was picked by RR in 2013 and since then, it has been a great journey for the RR skipper.

Sanju and Sreesanth came from the same state, Kerala and in an old interview, Sreesanth also talked about speaking a lie for a wicketkeeper-batter of his state and he also stated that Rahul Dravid caught his lie at that time only.

Sreesanth said, “Rahul bhai listened to me when I introduced Sanju to him. I lied to him, I said, ‘This kid hit me for six sixes in a local tournament’. Rahul bhai said, ‘Shree, kuch bhi bol, ye kyu bol raha hai?’ (Say anything, but why are you lying like this)”.

Sreesanth further added, “He didn’t do too well in a few practice games. But when Rahul bhai saw him bat, he was convinced; he came to me and said, ‘Sree, don’t let this Sanju guy go to any other selection; we are signing him. Whether or not he’d get matches, I don’t know, but we would like to sign him.'”

Well, sometimes lying can also help.
