KL Rahul Talks About One Issue They Faced In IPL 2024, Tells Reason Behind LSG’s Poor Outing

KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants suffered one more loss yesterday as it lost the match against Delhi Capitals by 19 runs. The match was played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi and LSG chose to bowl first after winning the toss.

Though the LSG bowlers managed to dismiss the DC opener Jake Fraser-McGurk on duck, Abhishek Porel (58 runs) and Shai Hope (38 runs) dealt with the situation in a right manner and kept the scoreboard ticking. While the DC skipper Rishabh Pant scored 33 runs, Tristan Stubbs played a blistering knock of 57 runs and helped their team in putting up a total of 208/4 on the scoreboard.

The LSG batting line-up once again fumbled as their top four batters were back in pavilion by the 5th over at the score of 44 runs and though Nicholas Pooran (61 runs) and Arshad Khan (58 runs) tried their best, they fell short by 19 runs.

While speaking at the post-match presentation, KL Rahul talked about the problem that they faced throughout the tournament, he said, “This has been a problem right through the season – we keep losing a lot of wickets in the Powerplay, we never get a solid start to get the likes of  (Marcus) Stoinis and (Nicholas) Pooran in, that is the big reason why we are in this position.”

He further said, “I feel the wicket remained the same throughout the 40 overs. When we got JFM out in the first over we should have capitalized, but they – Hope and Porel – showed a lot of intent. We did well at the back end and 200 was a par total, we should have chased it down.”

Chances of LSG playing in the play-offs are very less in this season, let’s hope that in the next season, they come with a better side.
