Indian Shooter Manu Bhaker Creates History By Winning 2 Olympic Medals In Single Edition

The Indian female athlete Manu Bhaker (22 yrs) has scripted history by winning 2 bronze medals in the ongoing Paris Olympics and with this, she has become the first Indian female athlete and second overall to win multiple medals in the single edition.

On 28 July, Manu Bhaker won her first Olympic Bronze medal in women’s 10 m air pistol event and today (30 July) she won her second Olympic Bronze medal in 10 m air pistol mixed event. Manu Bhaker along with Sarabjot Singh defeated their South Korean counterparts, Wonho Lee and Ye Jin Oh by 16-10 in the bronze medal playoff match.

After winning the second bronze medal, Manu Bhaker stated that she is proud of her performance and her hard work has paid-off.

She said, “I’m feeling really proud and there is lot of gratitude, thanks for all the blessings and love. Actually we can’t control (what the rivals will do), we can do what is in our hand, me and my partner thought let’s just try our best and we will keep fighting till the end. I really feel proud that I performed so well.”

Manu Bhaker will have chance to win one more medal when she will participate in the 25 m air pistol event.
