Shikhar Dhawan Wishes His Son Zorawar Gets To Know About His Retirement

Shikhar Dhawan who is also called Gabbar by his fans has taken the big decision of retiring from all formats of cricket at international and domestic level and he just hoped that his son Zorawar gets to know about the recent development.

Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan hopes his son will be aware of his retirement and the journey he had in cricket. Dhawan has previously shared his difficulty in reaching out to his son following his divorce from ex-wife Ayesha Mukherjee. Now 38, Dhawan has concluded his remarkable playing career and is eagerly looking forward to the next chapter of his life.

He said to a leading daily, “Zorawar is 11 now, I hope he gets to know about my retirement and all about my cricket journey. But more than as a cricketer, I would like for Zorawar to remember me as a good human being who does good deeds and brings positivity to people around him.”

Since his debut in 2010, Dhawan amassed over 10,000 runs in international cricket. He played a key role in India’s victorious campaign at the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.

Although Dhawan also represented India in Tests and T20Is, he made his mark primarily in ODIs, especially in ICC tournaments, where he averaged just over 65.

Reflecting on his career, Dhawan expressed that he has no regrets and believes he achieved everything possible given his potential. He also mentioned that he would love to see actor Akshay Kumar portray him in a biopic.

All the best for a new innings, Shikhar Dhawan.
