Farhan Akhtar’s decision to cast Ranveer Singh as the new face of Don 3 has divided the Internet. While some welcomed the change, Shah Rukh Khan’s fans were disappointed, as he had been the face of the Don franchise. Initially, reports suggested that the film would begin shooting in August this year. However, Farhan later announced that production would commence in January 2025.
Now, it appears that fans will have to wait even longer to see Ranveer in the iconic role, as Don 3 has been further delayed. This time, the postponement is due to Farhan Akhtar’s commitment to another acting project.
On Wednesday, August 4, Farhan Akhtar took to Instagram to reveal his involvement in a new film titled 120 Bahadur. He will portray Major Shaitan Singh PVC in this film, which will depict the 1962 Battle of Rezang La during the Indo-China war. Farhan shared the first look of his character, announcing that the shoot for 120 Bahadur has already begun, pushing back the timeline for Don 3.
A source revealed, “Farhan wants to stick to the commitment that he made to the makers of 120 Bahadur before kick-starting his own directorial. And since the shoot of the former will take a few months, he has decided to push the first schedule of Don 3 by four months. It will now begin in May-June next year. Moreover, Ranveer is currently focused on Aditya Dhar’s next untitled directorial.”
Kiara Advani has also been roped in to play the female lead opposite Ranveer Singh in Don 3.
