At the IIFA 2024 press conference in Mumbai, Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar displayed their well-known camaraderie, giving fans a glimpse of their friendly banter. This year, the duo will co-host the IIFA Awards in Abu Dhabi, and a viral video from the event shows SRK humorously teasing Karan about his hosting preparations.
Shah Rukh shared a playful remark, saying, “Karan has told me he’s not going to rehearse for hosting, he will do it on Zoom.” He further revealed Karan’s words, “Bhai main Zoom pe karlunga. Main badi jaldi jaldi karta hoon. Main toh itna hosting karta hoon,” implying that Karan prefers to prepare quickly through virtual means due to his extensive hosting experience.
In a light-hearted moment, SRK also urged Karan to focus more on filmmaking rather than his frequent hosting gigs. He said, “Picture bhi toh bana mere bhai. Tu kitna host karega?” highlighting the need for Karan to return to directing more films.
Karan Johar laughed at this and admitted, “I was thinking the same when Siddhant (Chaturvedi) said the same thing. I was like, ‘This is sounding so wrong on all levels for a filmmaker.’ I should be making more movies. That is exactly what I should be doing.”
The IIFA Awards 2024 will take place from September 27 to 29 at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The main awards night will be hosted by Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar, ensuring a memorable and entertaining evening. South Indian star Rana Daggubati will co-host IIFA Utsavam, while Siddhant Chaturvedi and Abhishek Banerjee will host IIFA Rocks.
