Rohit Sharma Took A Savage Dig At The Players Who Return From Retirement

Rohit Sharma is one of the most successful captains of India as India won the T20 World Cup 2024 under his leadership but shortly after India’s triumph in the T20 World Cup final, Rohit Sharma made a surprising declaration: the match against South Africa would be his last in T20 internationals.

His announcement came soon after Virat Kohli, another Indian cricket legend, confirmed that he too had played his final T20I.

Both Rohit and Kohli chose to bow out of T20 internationals on a high note. For Rohit, this was the culmination of a lifelong dream to win a World Cup as captain, while Kohli added another World Cup title to his 2011 ODI triumph.

Could Rohit Sharma reconsider his decision? Unlikely. At 37, Rohit has firmly decided to step away from the T20I format and has been outspoken about the trend of players reversing their retirement decisions.

“Retirement has become a joke in cricket nowadays,” Rohit commented on JioCinema. “Players announce their retirement only to return later. It’s rare in India, but I’ve noticed it happening more with players from other countries. So you never really know if someone is truly retired.”

Now that was savage, what do you say?
