Kiku Sharda Talks About Dressing Up As A Woman For Kapil Sharma’s Show

Kiku Sharda, a regular on Kapil Sharma’s comedy shows for over 11 years, is well-known for portraying female characters on stage, often with hilarious results. In a recent interview, Kiku expressed that he never had any reservations about dressing up as a woman and credited the audience for their acceptance of his performances.

Kiku Sharda shared that cross-dressing has been part of his comedic journey since his early days on The Great Indian Comedy Show. “I never had any apprehensions about dressing up as a woman, I have done this from The Great Indian Comedy Show days. I am an actor, so I should be able to deliver everything that comes my way. As long as it’s entertaining, it’s fine,” Kiku explained. He emphasized that he takes care to keep his female characters dignified and endearing, ensuring they remain “in the cute zone”. He added that had the audience not accepted his cross-dressing, he would not have continued. “I can go to any extent for my craft,” he concluded.

Speaking about his association with Kapil Sharma, Kiku said that working with Kapil has transformed his career and helped him grow as an artist. “Kapil has been a different high. It has been 11 years that I have been doing the show, but working with Kapil has helped me learn so much, and grow so much. It has helped me become the person I am today.”

Kiku recently made a return to Netflix with The Great Indian Kapil Show, which features a star-studded lineup including Krushna Abhishek, Rajiv Thakur, Sunil Grover, and Archana Puran Singh. The first episode, which premiered recently, welcomed Alia Bhatt, Vedang Raina, and Karan Johar, who were promoting their upcoming film Jigra. Future episodes will feature prominent stars such as Saif Ali Khan, Jr NTR, Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, and Vidya Balan.
