Telangana Minister Konda Surekha recently made shocking claims regarding the divorce of actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya, involving BRS president KT Rama Rao (KTR) in the controversy. Surekha alleged that KTR’s interference caused the breakdown of the marriage, pointing to a dispute surrounding Nagarjuna Akkineni’s N-Convention Centre. According to Surekha, KTR allegedly demanded that Samantha be sent to him in exchange for not demolishing the centre, and her refusal supposedly led to her separation from Naga Chaitanya.
Surekha’s claims quickly stirred public attention. She further alleged that KTR had been tapping the phones of actresses, using personal information to blackmail them and even making them drug addicts. She claimed that Naga Chaitanya and his family were fully aware of these events.
The N-Convention Centre, owned by Nagarjuna, was partially demolished in August 2024 for violating lake buffer zone regulations. Nagarjuna responded by securing a stay order from the High Court and released a statement addressing the demolition.
Samantha took to Instagram to respond to these serious allegations. In a powerful statement, she expressed pride in her personal and professional journey while asking for respect and responsibility in public discourse.
Samantha wrote, “To be a woman, to come out and work, to survive in a glamorous industry where women are more often than not treated as props, to fall in love & to fall out of love, to still stand up and fight… It takes a lot of courage and strength.”
She addressed the minister as she wrote, “Konda Surekha Garu, I am proud of what this journey turned me into—please don’t trivialise it. I hope you realise that your words carry significant weight as a minister. I implore you to be responsible and respectful of individuals’ privacy.”
Samantha also talked about her divorce, she wrote, “My divorce is a personal matter, and I request that you refrain from speculating about it. Our choice to keep things private doesn’t invite misrepresentation. To clarify: my divorce was mutual consent and amicable, with no political conspiracy involved. Could you please keep my name out of political battles? I have always remained non-political and wish to continue doing so.”
