Shah Rukh Khan’s Show Fauji Will Make A Comeback With A Sequel, Fauji 2

Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic television debut Fauji is set to make a comeback with a sequel, Fauji 2, after 36 years. The original series, which aired in 1988 and was directed by Lt. Col. Raj Kumar Kapoor, launched Shah Rukh Khan as a household name and became a significant milestone in Indian television. Now, Fauji 2 has been announced, set to air on Doordarshan.

On October 15, trade expert Taran Adarsh confirmed the news on social media, revealing that Vicky Jain, husband of actress Ankita Lokhande, will take on the lead role in the sequel. Vicky Jain is not only starring in the show but also co-producing it alongside Sandeep Singh. Actress Gauahar Khan will also appear in the series.

Adarsh shared further details, announcing that the sequel will be presented in a modern, updated format. He also disclosed that Fauji 2 will feature 12 new actors, including Vicky Jain, and introduce 11 original songs. Notably, singer Sonu Nigam has lent his voice to the title track, with music composed by Shreyas Puranik. Actor Sharad Kelkar will provide the voiceover for the series, and Fauji 2 will be directed by Abhinav Pareek.

The original Fauji series was a huge success and followed the lives of new recruits in the Indian Army, highlighting their challenges, achievements, and failures. Shah Rukh Khan’s portrayal of Abhimanyu Rai, a character reportedly inspired by Lt. Col. Sanjoy Bannerji of the Indian Army, left a lasting impression on viewers and is fondly remembered by fans to this day.

The highly anticipated Fauji 2 promises to continue the legacy of the original, but with a fresh take to engage a modern audience.
