Fans of Salman Khan are growing increasingly concerned following the tragic murder of politician and Salman’s friend Baba Siddique. A member of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang has reportedly claimed responsibility for Siddique’s death, which has escalated tensions around Salman Khan’s safety. The actor has been on Bishnoi’s radar for years, following his involvement in the infamous blackbuck poaching case. Bishnoi, whose community holds blackbucks as sacred, has been issuing threats to Salman since 2018.
Salman Khan was accused of hunting and killing two blackbucks during the filming of the 1998 movie Hum Saath Saath Hain in Rajasthan. Blackbucks, revered by the Bishnoi community, are protected under Indian law. The actor was sentenced to five years in prison but was later granted bail. Lawrence Bishnoi, a member of the Bishnoi community, began threatening Salman following the case’s conclusion.
The threats against Salman have intensified over the years. In 2023, Salman’s father, Salim Khan, discovered a death threat letter, further amplifying security concerns. Bishnoi, who is currently in Tihar Jail, openly declared that his life’s mission is to kill Salman Khan. Earlier this year, shots were reportedly fired at the actor’s Mumbai residence, deepening the sense of danger.
Amid the ongoing threats, a speech made by actor Vivek Oberoi, discussing the Bishnoi community, has resurfaced online. In the viral video, Vivek praised the Bishnoi people for their unique devotion to wildlife. He highlighted their compassion by stating, “In every household, including mine, we feed cow’s milk to kids. There’s only one community in the whole world – the Bishnoi community – where if a fawn’s mother dies, the Bishnoi mothers take it in their laps and feed them milk like they feed their kids. You won’t find this anywhere else in the world.”
