Samantha Had A Concussion While Shooting For Honey Bunny, Nobody Took Her To Hospital

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu faced significant health challenges while working on the upcoming series Citadel: Honey Bunny, after being diagnosed with myositis, a debilitating autoimmune disorder that affects her muscles. The disorder made certain aspects of filming difficult but Samantha remained determined to complete her role despite the obstacles.

In a recent interview, Samantha recalled a particularly challenging moment on set when she suffered a concussion. Reflecting on the incident, she shared, “I had a concussion, and I forgot names after that. I completely blanked out. That was quite something. Now that I think of it, nobody took me to the hospital. Nobody asked me.” Sita Menon, one of the show’s writers, added context to the situation, noting that medical assistance was sought remotely. Samantha, however, humorously replied, “Which doctor?” to which Sita responded, “You don’t remember because you were concussed.”

Samantha recounted her confusion during the shoot, saying, “I remember, during my concussion, hearing that we have the set only for less than a day, we need to finish the shoot. So in my concussion, I was like, ‘I am coming, people, I am coming.’ Then I remember the stunt guy was in front of me, and then I was like, ‘What am I doing?’ and they were like, ‘Okay, cut, not happening.’”

At one point, the actress even considered stepping away from the project due to her health concerns. She revealed that she had asked the show’s directors, Raj and DK, to replace her because she doubted her ability to perform. However, Samantha ultimately decided to persevere, and her dedication paid off. She expressed deep gratitude after seeing the final product, recognizing the strength she found in overcoming the challenges of both her illness and the demanding role.
