The famous rapper and singer Badshah, celebrated for hits like Jugnu, Mercy and Saturday Saturday, has found himself at the center of a legal dispute. A media company has filed a case against him for allegedly failing to fulfill the payment terms outlined in their agreement. The allegations stem from services rendered for the production and promotion of the track Baawla, which features Badshah and Amit Uchana and has amassed over 151 million views on YouTube.
According to the company, all required services for Baawla’s production and marketing were completed. However, they claim Badshah has not settled outstanding payments for the project, despite multiple reminders. The matter is now before the Karnal District Court, under CNR Number HRKR010130502024, case file ARB 47/2024. The complainants allege that Badshah’s repeated promises to pay have gone unfulfilled, forcing them to seek legal recourse.
The promotional campaign for Baawla was reportedly extensive and costly, enhancing Badshah’s public profile and contributing to his brand’s growth. The media company asserts that their financial investment and efforts have gone uncompensated, adding further weight to their claims.
This is not the first legal issue the artist has faced. Last year, Badshah was summoned by the Maharashtra Police Cyber Cell for his involvement in promoting the online betting app ‘FairPlay’, along with around 40 other celebrities.
