After an impressive four-year reign at the top of the TRP charts, Anupamaa, led by Rupali Ganguly, has now slipped to the second spot. The show was overtaken by Rajan Shahi’s other popular daily soap, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Reacting to this shift, Sudhanshu Pandey, who previously played Vanraj Shah in Anupamaa, shared his perspective in an interview.
Sudhanshu acknowledged the remarkable achievement of the show maintaining its number one position for such a long period, emphasizing how challenging it is for any daily show to sustain such immense popularity. “I think it’s incredible that the show sustained its number one position for four years. It is not easy for a daily show to sustain the number one position, the charm, the interest and everything. Four years is a long time. They have done an incredible job with that,” he remarked.
He expressed that a dip in viewership is natural and to be expected, pointing out that continuous dominance in the ratings is almost impossible for any show. “If it is going down a little bit, I think it is absolutely okay because it is inhuman for any show to just be there on top continuously. Thoda bahut upar neeche toh hoga and I think that is natural,” Sudhanshu added.
