Kangana Ranaut, currently promoting her much-awaited film Emergency, recently made an appearance on Salman Khan’s reality show, Bigg Boss 18. During her visit, she participated in a task and shared candid feedback about the contestants, accusing them of engaging in excessive drama.
After leaving the Bigg Boss house, Kangana interacted with the paparazzi, who asked about her experience on the show. When photographers inquired, “Emergency task hua ki nahi? (Did you perform the Emergency task?),” Kangana humorously responded, “Bade naatak kiye inn logon ne. Bade utpaat machaaye (They created a big drama. They caused a lot of chaos).” Adding to the banter, she joked, “Maine andar jaa kar dictatorship dikhaayi hai (I went inside and showed dictatorship).”
During her stint in the house, Kangana made a style statement in a chic golden checkered co-ord set, accessorized with cat-eye sunglasses and a sleek ponytail, showcasing her signature elegance.
Kangana’s ambitious project Emergency is set to hit theaters on January 17, 2024, after multiple delays. Originally slated for a November 2023 release, the film faced several postponements—first to June 2024, then to September 6, 2024—due to issues with its CBFC certification. On October 17, Kangana announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the censor board had finally approved the film.
The movie had also faced backlash from the Sikh community, who raised concerns about its content. However, with these challenges behind her, Kangana is ready to unveil her labor of love.
Emergency marks Kangana Ranaut’s multi-faceted contribution as writer, director, and co-producer. The film delves into the 21-month period between 1975 and 1977, when then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared a state of emergency in India, a controversial and turbulent chapter in the country’s history.
With its gripping narrative and Kangana’s dedication, Emergency is poised to be a significant cinematic event that sheds light on a critical era in Indian politics.
