Upasana Singh Reveals Why She Quit Kapil Sharma Show Despite Getting Audiences’ Love

Upasana Singh has long been a popular face in television and Hindi cinema, but her portrayal of Kapil Sharma’s “bua” on his Colors show truly cemented her place in the hearts of fans, showcasing her impeccable comedic timing. However, after Kapil’s move to Sony due to disagreements with the Colors channel, Upasana could not join him because of contractual obligations with her previous employer.

In an interview, Upasana explained why she hasn’t been seen on The Kapil Sharma Show. Reflecting on her time on Kapil’s 2013 show, she said, “After a while, there wasn’t much left for me to do. I even shared this with Kapil. We’ve always maintained a great relationship—it’s not like we had a fight or anything. I just felt that the spark was missing; it wasn’t as fun anymore.”

She elaborated further, saying, “At that time, Kapil was working towards establishing himself as the main lead. He assured me, ‘Let me sort everything out, and then we’ll work together again.’ Around the same time, Kapil and Colors were having disagreements. My contract was with Colors, not with Kapil’s team, so when he transitioned to Sony, I couldn’t follow him due to my commitments with Colors.”

Upasana Singh also shared her experience working on Krushna Abhishek’s show, which replaced Kapil’s on Colors. She revealed that being part of that show wasn’t enjoyable for her and hinted at the rivalry between Kapil’s and Krushna’s teams during that period.

Despite these challenges, Upasana and Kapil continue to share mutual respect, keeping the door open for future collaborations.
