The Khar police arrested a man suspected of stealing a diamond earring worth Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 35,000 in cash, and $500 USD from the Khar West home of Bollywood actress Poonam Dhillon. The 37-year-old accused, Sameer Ansari, was taken into custody on January 6. While her son, Anmol, dwells in the Khar home, the actress primarily resides in Juhu. On occasion, Dhillon also stays at the Khar residence.
According to investigations, Ansari was a crew member who painted the actress’s apartment from December 28 to January 5. He stole the stuff during this period by using the unlocked cupboard. The diamond earring, Rs. 35,000 in cash, and USD 500 in a bag were all in an open cupboard that Ansari saw. He took advantage of this chance to steal. According to reports, the accused paid Rs. 9,000 for a party for his coworkers, who were also on the painting crew.
When Anmol, the actress’s son, returned from Dubai on January 5 and examined the cash and jewellery, the theft was discovered. When he realized the things were gone, he called his mother to be sure. The 39-year-old manager of the actress, Sandesh Chaudhary, complained to the Khar police after talking to domestic assistance.
The painters were called in to be questioned after the complaint was made. Ansari was arrested after confessing to the crime during questioning.
