On Tuesday, the Supreme Court expressed dissatisfaction with the remarks made by national award winner Ranveer Allahbadia during his guest appearance on the comedy show ‘India’s Got Latent. “What are the boundaries of obscenity and vulgarity?” the top court questioned Allahbadia’s lawyer.
The Supreme Court granted interim protection to the YouTuber and podcaster from arrest concerning various FIRs filed against him across India.

“Just because somebody thinks he becomes so popular and can speak any kind of words, can take entire society for granted? Is there anyone on earth who will like this language? There is something very dirty in his mind which has been vomited.”
“What are the values of society? What are these parameter, do you even know?” the court asked Allahbadia’s lawyer.
In a recent development, the Supreme Court has granted interim protection to Ranveer Allahbadia, meaning he will not face arrest at this stage. However, the court has asked him to cooperate fully with investigations taking place in Maharashtra, Assam.
The court also made it clear that no further FIRs will be filed against Allahbadia for his comments during his YouTube show.
