Vishal Dadlani Challenges Yogi Adityanath to ‘Take a Chunky Glug’ of Maha Kumbh Water After He Rejects Faecal Bacteria Report

On Thursday, singer and music composer Vishal Dadlani took a dig at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, challenging him to drink a “chunky glug” of river water from the Maha Kumbh Mela site in Prayagraj. His remarks came after a report revealed high levels of fecal contamination in the Sangam’s water.

NGT Report Sparks Debate

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) released a report on February 17, stating that water near several Maha Kumbh locations contained excessive amounts of fecal bacteria and total coliform, posing serious health risks. However, on Wednesday, Adityanath dismissed the findings, claiming that the Sangam’s water is “fit for drinking”, which led to widespread reactions across the country.

Dadlani’s Sarcastic Challenge

In response to Adityanath’s statement, Vishal Dadlani took to Instagram stories, sarcastically urging the CM to prove his claim. He wrote:

“Don’t worry about the haters, Sir. We believe you. Please go ahead and take a nice chunky glug, directly from the river, on camera.”

He further criticized the situation by sharing a news report on the NGT’s findings. In another post, he commented:

“If you can’t see millions of cases of dysentery, cholera, and amoebiasis coming right up, you are special. Please go ahead and dunk yourself and your family into sewage. More power to ya.”

Dadlani’s Criticism of the Legal System

This isn’t the first time Vishal Dadlani has spoken out on social issues. On Wednesday, he took another swipe at the government while supporting comedian Samay Raina during the India’s Got Latent controversy. He criticized the legal system for focusing on online content regulation while ignoring major concerns.

His post read:

“The government wanted to control online content. They’ve been trying and getting stopped for a long time. In this wave of TV-generated outrage, people are giving away their freedom. Not to mention… ‘what Kumbh stampede deaths?’ Samjhe?”

For those unaware, Dadlani appeared as a guest on one of India’s Got Latent episodes, which has since been deleted from Samay Raina’s YouTube channel.
