Tollywood veteran Mohan Babu finds himself entangled in yet another controversy, adding to his ongoing family troubles. Recently, the actor was in the spotlight due to a police case involving his younger son, Manchu Manoj. Now, an even more startling accusation has emerged, alleging his involvement in the tragic death of actress Soundarya.
A complaint filed in Andhra Pradesh’s Khammam district has brought fresh attention to the untimely demise of Soundarya, best remembered for her role as ‘Radha’ alongside Amitabh Bachchan in Sooryavansham. The beloved actress, a major star in Kannada cinema with a strong presence in Hindi and South Indian films, lost her life in a devastating plane crash on April 17, 2004. At just 31 years old, she was en route to a political campaign event in Karimnagar for the Bharatiya Janata Party and Telugu Desam Party when the aircraft went down, also claiming the life of her brother. Reports at the time suggested she was pregnant, adding to the heartbreak as her family was unable to recover her remains.
Two decades later, a complaint reported by a news channel has challenged the official version of events, asserting that Soundarya’s death was not accidental but the result of foul play. The allegations stem from a property dispute with Mohan Babu. According to the complainant, Soundarya and her brother, Amarnath, had refused to sell six acres of land in Shamshabad’s Jalpalli village to the actor, leading to growing tensions
Further claims in the complaint suggest that Mohan Babu pressured the siblings to part with the land and later took illegal possession of it after the plane crash. Notably, no definitive cause was ever established for the aircraft’s failure, leaving room for speculation. The complainant, identified as Chittimallu, has formally approached the Khammam ACP and the Khammam District Officer, urging authorities to reclaim the disputed land and repurpose it for public welfare, including orphanages, military families, the police force, or media personnel.
Additionally, the complaint ties the controversy to existing disputes within the Manchu family, demanding justice for Manchu Manoj and advocating for the seizure of a six-acre guest house in Jalpalli. Expressing grave concerns over personal safety, the complainant has also sought police protection, alleging threats from Mohan Babu.
With these serious allegations resurfacing after so many years, Mohan Babu finds himself facing yet another legal and personal battle. As the case unfolds, all eyes remain on the legal proceedings and their potential implications for the veteran actor.
