Punjab Kings (PBKS) secured a commanding victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their IPL 2025 clash, with captain Shreyas Iyer leading from the front with a stunning half-century. The franchise wasted no time in celebrating their skipper’s performance on social media while also taking a subtle jab at LSG captain Rishabh Pant.
During the IPL 2025 mega auction, Pant was bought for a whopping Rs 27 crore and later admitted his relief at not being picked by Punjab Kings. Reflecting on his selection, Pant had remarked, “Mera ek hi tension tha, wo tha Punjab (I had only one tension, which was getting picked by Punjab),” while speaking to JioStar after being unveiled as LSG’s captain.
PBKS, seemingly unfazed by Rishabh Pant’s earlier comment, responded with a playful jibe of their own after their emphatic win. Sharing a video of Shreyas Iyer on their official X handle, Punjab Kings tweeted, “Tension toh auction mein hi khatam ho gayi thi (Our tension was over at the auction)!”
