Initial speculation pointed towards creative differences as the reason for Diljit Dosanjh’s departure from No Entry 2, the sequel to the popular comedy No Entry, which already has Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor in its cast.
However, producer Boney Kapoor dismissed these rumors, firmly stating, “Yes, there are date issues, but certainly no creative differences. That is absolutely false. We are trying our best to work the dates out.” Ultimately, it seems Diljit Dosanjh’s prior commitments made his participation impossible, leading the filmmakers to consider other actors.
Director Anees Bazmee recently shared his perspective on this development, emphasizing that he is not “upset” about Diljit’s exit. He pointed out that navigating casting changes is not new to him, as he has often collaborated with actors who weren’t his original preferences. “I’m just happy that the film is getting made. There’s no bigger joy than that. At this point, woh hi ho raha hai jo upar waala chahta hai. I work with a lot of earnestness and I leave the rest to god. It’s not like the films that I’ve only worked with actors who’ve been my first choices on the films I’ve done so far,” Bazmee explained.
Adopting a positive outlook, Anees Bazmee is eager to begin shooting No Entry 2 “very soon,” choosing not to dwell on the altered casting.
Drawing from his past successes, the director of films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and the Welcome series recalled, “I’ve had to work with actors who were my second and even third choices. But once these films got released, audiences felt that those actors fit the characters perfectly and nobody else could’ve pulled off those parts the way they did.” This reflection underscores his belief in finding the ideal actors for the sequel, regardless of the initial casting plans.
