Rana Daggubati, acclaimed for his performances in films like Baahubali and Rana Naidu, recently offered his candid views on nepotism within the film industry. Hailing from a prominent film family himself – his father is producer D. Suresh Babu, his uncle is actor Venkatesh Daggubati, and his cousin is actor Naga Chaitanya – Rana’s insights come from a place of direct experience.

Despite his strong lineage, he openly discussed how the industry perceives family connections and the opportunities afforded to “star kids”.

During an interview, Rana Daggubati acknowledged that growing up in a film family provides a distinct advantage in understanding the intricacies of the industry and often leads to more opportunities. He explained, “Any industry that your family is from, you understand it more than somebody who’s not. How does it help an actor? Ultimately, you have to stand in front of the camera and act.

There’ll be a lot more opportunities for you. There will be an ecosystem that you understand. It’s like if your family is from chemical industries or sugar factories, you’ll understand how a sugar factory works and all the byproducts of sugar like that.”

He does make sense, doesn’t he?
