Kajol, known for her outspoken nature, recently voiced strong disapproval of the paparazzi, particularly their tendency to violate personal space during sensitive times like funerals. In a recent interview, the actress shared her discomfort with being constantly followed, even into what should be private moments.
“I am a little conscious with the paps. I do feel that there are certain places where they shouldn’t be at least be. I find it very strange when they run after you, you know, at a funeral, or when you are attending a death ceremony of someone, meaning you went to someone’s funeral, and someone is behind you saying ‘photograph, photograph,’” Kajol told an entertainment portal.
Kajol didn’t mince words when describing how bizarre and disrespectful she finds this conduct. “I find that odd. I find that a little disrespectful. I find it strange actually. You can’t even go for lunch, or they are following you for kilometres. Like, get into my car, and you know, from Juhu, they followed me all the way from Juhu to Bandra, halfway to town, you know, to see where I am getting off and which building I am going into.”
She emphasized that such actions would be entirely unacceptable if directed at anyone who isn’t a public figure. “I find that disturbing because if I was a normal person, would you do that? You wouldn’t. I would have just taken you to the cops and said, ‘You know, this gentleman on the scooter is following me.’”
On the work front, Kajol is venturing into the horror genre for the first time with Maa. The film is described as both emotionally intense and visually haunting. The trailer for Maa hints at a powerful story of a mother protecting her daughter from evil, with one particularly impactful scene showing Kajol’s character undergoing brutal torture.
